A Time to Remember

Memorial Day is May 31st.  This is a day to reflect on the sacrifices of those that have fought and died to protect the liberties and values that we Americans cherish so much.  It is easy to forget that so many have shed their blood for us and it is the least we can do to set aside one day a year to remember them.  I took all of the photos in this post on battlefields where our fellow citizens gave their lives.

Details, Details, Details

Sometimes you can convey the character of a subject better by selecting a few of its smaller details than you can by showing the whole.  Doing so helps the viewer focus on what makes the subject important, what makes it unique.  Therefore, I choose details as my theme today...

Spring Has Sprung

Spring has finally arrived and I couldn't be happier! This past winter has been...let's just say undesirable, but now the trees are budding, the flowers are popping open and the suns rays are blessing us with their warmth.  So  naturally, today's theme is spring.

April 1, 2010 is my niece Danielle's twenty-first birthday.  To celebrate this momentous event I am posting photos that I've taken of her (and her teammates) while watching her play goalie for Shenandoah University, where she is on both the women's field hockey team and the women's lacrosse team.  Happy Birthday Dani!
